Assalamu Alaikum,
Shadman is seeking support for my 1 year and 7 months old daughter, Zunairah Fatima.
Her journey changed when she started having seizures, followed by involuntary movements and delayed development. After multiple consultations, doctors at Dr. Rela Institute & Medical Centre diagnosed her with MSUD Type I (Maple Syrup Urine Disease) — a rare and severe genetic metabolic disorder.
MSUD Type I is caused by a defective enzyme (BCKDH Complex) which prevents the body from breaking down certain amino acids. This leads to toxic buildup in the blood and can cause serious neurological damage if not strictly managed.
Zunairah is currently under continuous treatment and strict medical supervision. She is under consultation with a metabolic specialist, neurologist, paediatrician, and dietician. She requires:
• Lifelong protein-restricted medical diet
• Special medical formula
• Regular monitoring and medications
• And most importantly — a Liver Transplant as a long-term treatment option
So far, they have spent approximately ?15,00,000 on her treatment. However, the liver transplant and associated expenses will require more than ?30,00,000.
He is the sole earning member of my family, which includes my wife and elderly parents. Despite doing everything within my capacity, arranging such a large amount is beyond my means.
As a father, his only dream is to see his daughter live a healthy life like other children;to run, laugh, and grow without suffering.
